#ShipSafe Campaign

Ship-Safe-Intro-Paragraph-Image2We have all received a card that looks like it was packaged by a monkey. It is unacceptable. I take pride in my packaging and you should as well. It isn’t difficult to package a card or lot securely.

Small team bags, graded bags, dummy/protector cards, one or two packing peanuts and a bubble mailer go a long way in protecting a card and ensuring it will arrive safely.

Also, tape is not needed anywhere inside the envelope. No, not even on a top load, a great replacement is a small team bag. I think it’s possible that tape could add pressure to the card and possibly cause damage to the upper edges of the card.

Please post and follow along with all the shenanigans using the #ShipSafe Hashtag on Twitter.

First tweet of the day, the tweet that got me going…

I wanted to have some fun on Twitter so I tossed up a picture of a KB auto that some dummy sent me using a PWE. To be fair, dude did send it in a one touch, and it did arrive safely, but come on man, the card should never have been sent like this.

#ShipSafe campaign is official now…

I had taken some pictures and was waiting for the right time to snap together a video or something about how to ship securely. Kinda seems funny that anyone would even need to watch a video or need to be taught how to safely package a card, but there are some real dummies out there. So what better than some derogatory MEMEs.

Everybody loves some FREE T-shirts…

By this point I was getting super pumped. It was fun messing around with the MEMEs and messing with everyone on Twitter. To me, the only logical thing to do was make a t-shirt. I have designed some t-shirts for my music projects and can easily snap together a prototype, so I had to snap together a prototype. Don’t be surprised if these t-shirts make an appearance at a card show in the near future.

Don’t worry, I have a bunch of these…

During the campaign I was commenting with people and posting some of the best of the worst pack jobs I have received. 1. It’s crazy that I actually have a folder set up to save all these pictures I take of dummy packaging. 2. I can’t believe this many people really don’t know how to package the cards they are selling, or just don’t care…

Okay, things have come full circle now…

I figured I would start to wind things down with what started the whole campaign. They can buy it from me, but I am shipping PWE, just like it was shipped to me.

I plan to keep this campaign going for sure. Most of this is done in jest, but seriously…There is absolutely no reason every one of us can not package in a consistent fashion. The proper supplies are affordable, easy to obtain and they go a long way to providing safe and secure packaging.

So what do you think…Do you #ShipSafe, or you a dummy? Are your top loaders covered in tape? Come FOLLOW me on TWITTER and tell me about the worst pack job you ever received?
